AA Book Club Literature Study Guide

The AA Book Club is a group of men and women who read, study and practice the literature. We have concluded to publish an anonymous website setting forth a detailed analysis of A.A. literature to share with others. We shall bring to the task our combined experience and knowledge.

We also host a private Facebook group for the sole purpose of discussing AA and AA-related literature and offer links to other informative sources on AA history, writings and speakers on our blog.

Anyone in AA who loves the literature is already a member of the AA Book Club. There are no meetings, but you can participate by joining the discussion on our Facebook group, reading the blog and using our study guide. Take what you can from these resources and Pass It On. We'd love to hear from you via E-Mail (aa_bookclub@aol.com) or read your comments on the blog!

We note with appreciation that A.A. literature is published without personal attribution, and humbly follow this example with our unofficial offerings:

* Analysis of Alcoholics Anonymous and Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions - An in-depth analysis of A.A.'s two major works
* Analysis of the Twelve Concepts - The often-neglected Third Legacy
*A Book Of Recovery - The recovery story of one of our leading contributors, including a personal and practical examination of AA literature and the Steps.
* AA and the Books of James - A study of William James's Varieties of Religious Expeience and the Biblical Book of James, and their influence on the book and program Alcoholics Anonymous
* Buddhism and the Big Book - A detailed comparison of the Twelve Steps and the Four Noble Truths and Eightfold Path of Buddhism
* 153 Topics - Topics derived from the Big Book for use to lead meetings, with a sponsee or for individual study / meditation

"Over the last twenty-five years, it has been my privilege to write these books about A.A.: the text of 'Alcoholics Anonymous,' 'Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions,' 'Alcoholics Anonymous Comes of Age', and 'Twelve Concepts for World Service'... pieces written for the A.A. Grapevine... personal correspondence...

"Of course, all this material reflects my personal viewpoint on A.A.'s way of life. As such, it is bound to have its limitations and imperfections."
